1 person injured in shooting at Walmart in Aiken; suspect in custody

AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) – One person is injured after a shooting at the Walmart on the 2000 block of Whiskey Road.
The shooting occurred at 7:34 p.m. Wednesday, according to dispatch.

Upon arrival, officers found one victim with a gunshot wound.
Officers with the Aiken Department of Public Safety rendered aid to the victim until EMS responded to the scene.
Aiken Department of Public Safety and Aiken County Sheriff’s Office have both responded to the scene.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment, according to officers.
According to the Aiken Department of Public Safety, a suspect is in custody and there is no danger to the public.
The investigation is ongoing at this time.
