19-year-old dies after car crashes into tree in Delaware County

THOMPSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol says a 19-year-old man was killed in a crash early Saturday morning along State Route 257.

It happened around 12:08 a.m. on SR 257 north of Donovan Road in Thompson Township.




According to the patrol, Bobby L. Brown, age 19, of Waldo, was driving a 2008 Hyundai Tiburon north on State Route 257. Brown’s vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and struck a tree. Brown was pronounced dead at the scene by Delaware County medics.

Troopers say alcohol is not a suspected factor and that Brown was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, Scioto Township Fire Department, and Radnor Fire and EMS.




The crash remains under investigation.
