Coroner: Greenville police officer killed in the line of duty
GREENVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) — A Greenville police officer is dead after someone shot her Tuesday night in the line of duty.
Multiple law enforcement vehicles with flashing lights can be seen on the MDOT camera in Greenville on Highway 82 looking east from Highway 1.
Washington County Coroner Methel Johnson confirmed the information with WTVA 9 News.
She did not share the officer’s name or any specifics on the shooting.
However, a Mississippi Department of Transportation camera did show multiple law enforcement vehicles on Highway 82 looking east from Highway 1.
A law enforcement vehicle was blocking eastbound traffic on Highway 82.
