Dulles Town Center mall in lockdown after active shooter leaves at least one injured as ‘cops follow trail of blood’
ONE person has been wounded after gunfire erupted in a shopping mall in Virginia.
Police believe the shooting occurred after a dispute between two people escalated.
The Dulles Town Center mall in Sterling, Virginia went under lockdown as police received reports of an active shooter shortly before 12pm on Sunday.
Police were able to take a suspect into custody and are currently clearing out the mall.
A spokesperson for the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office told Fox News Digital that the situation at the Dulles Town Center in Sterling, Va., remains “very, very active.”
He added that law enforcement is setting up a command center at the scene. One suspect was apprehended, but authorities are still working to determine if other shooters were involved.
The public was urged to stay away from the mall, while police continue to investigate.
Authorities are still looking into the circumstances of how the shooting started, according to Tom Julia, a spokesman for the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.
