One injured, one at large following Grovetown shooting

GROVETOWN, Ga. (WJBF) – Grovetown Public Safety and the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office are on the scene of a shooting in Grovetown.

It happened around 4:30 Friday morning on Battle Court, off Harlem Grovetown Road near Old Berzelia.

Residents say two men were banging on doors and trying to break into their home.

They say at least one of the men was armed.

When police arrived on the scene, they saw one of the suspects in the backyard, with several gunshot wounds.

Currently the residents are being questioned by Grovetown Public Safety.

The suspect is headed to surgery at Doctors hospital.,

No word yet on the suspect’s identity or on any possible charges.
