Police have arrested and charged 43 year old John Roy Smith, a retired Canadian Soldier of Sittee River Village for 2 counts of abetment to commit Murder. He was involved in the shooting in Hopkins Village. Yesterday, the Commissioner of Police said, “There was a vehicle which is owned by a Canadian and a vehicle which is owned by one of the suspects. And it clearly shows when the two vehicles left the nightclub, one behind the other, and they went in their direction. Police’s quick response led to the detention of the Canadian and impounded his vehicle, which is still in custody. The Canadian should be charged, hopefully with abetment, to commit a crime or to commit murder.”
