Stepdad of missing 11-year-old arrested for failure to report her disappearance, Cornelius PD says
CORNELIUS, N.C. — The FBI announced Friday it is helping the Cornelius Police Department with its search for an 11-year-old girl who was last seen on Nov. 23 at her home, according to police.

Police said they began investigating after the parents of Madalina Cojocari reported her missing on Dec. 15 to a school resource officer at Bailey Middle School.
On Saturday morning, Cornelius PD announced they arrested Christopher Palmiter for failure to report the disappearance of a child to Law Enforcement. He is the stepdad of Cojocari, according to police.
Palmiter is being held on a $100,000 bond.
