Suspect, officer injured in Henderson police shooting near Eastern, St. Rose Parkway

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A suspect and an officer were injured in a police shooting in Henderson Monday morning.
The department said in a statement the officer-involved shooting was reported around 6:50 a.m. in the area of Eastern Avenue and St. Rose Parkway, in the western part of the city.

Police had responded to a report of a suspicious person seen carrying a firearm, according to the department.
The suspect did not comply with officers and ran away, leading to a foot pursuit.
“The suspect discharged his firearm at officers resulting in an officer involved shooting,” Henderson Police said in their statement.
The suspect was struck and taken to a local hospital to be treated for injuries.

One officer suffered an injury during the incident and was also taken to a hospital. His condition is described as stable.
