Tragedy as body found in recycling bin by passerby as police probe launched
Police, fire and ambulance services attended the reports and are currently at the scene

A body has been found in a recycling bin by a member of the public, police have confirmed.
The tragic discovery was made at around 6am this morning (March 17). Police were contacted by a passerby who reported finding the body in a recycling bin in Scalby, Scarborough.

Police, fire and ambulance services attended the reports and are currently at the scene. Enquiries are ongoing, but at this time time, officers do not believe that there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.
In a statement, North Yorkshire Police said: “Police were contacted at 6am Friday 17 March 2023 by a member of the public, who reported finding a body in a recycling bin in Scalby, Scarborough.
